Friday Fill-Ins time!
2. Show me a good loser and I will show you a virgin prostitute. O-M-G.. my brain is definitely not working! o_O
3. For me, reading an awesome book is like eating an entire box of chocolate liqueurs at one time.
4. Too bad that all the people who know how to run the country are busy with their personal lives & businesses and can't be bothered with politics.
5. I have yet to hear a man ask for advice on how to combine his legal family and his mistress' brood. LOL!
6. It is impossible to think of any good meal, no matter how plain or elegant, without cheese or meat in it.
7. And as for the weekend: tonight I'm looking forward to playing The Sims & multiplayer games (like the fast-loading online billiard game on www.8c1.net -- it's totally FREE and tons of fun esp. if you play with your friends!), tomorrow my plans include movie marathon with hubby and Sunday, I want to celebrate Father's Day with style! ;-)

happy thanksgiving!
And just so I’ll do something new in this blog, I joined the Booking Through Thursday meme for the first time ^_^ And being Thanksgiving Day in the US today, the meme’s topic is THANKFUL:
So–just for today–how about sharing 7 things that you’re thankful for?
This can be about books, sure–authors you appreciate, books you love, an ode to your public library–but also, how about other things, too? Because in times like these, with bills piling up and disaster seemingly lurking around every corner, it’s more important than ever to stop and take stock of the things we’re grateful for.
Here's my take on the meme-- the seven things I'm thankful for today: my good health and that of my family + friends, Labsie enjoying his trainer work, it’s a sunny day today (its been rainy the past few days and I just stayed in bed, sooo lazy!), our super cute and playful dogs, the horrific Mumbai bombing / hostage crisis is winding down (I’m on CNN/BBC right now), my youngest sibling is getting mature (he’s 23yo, LOL), and that Labsie + I are enjoying our (newly) married life! ^_^ How about you? What are you thankful for?

definitely NOT ready to become a parent!
| You Are 56% Ready to Be a Parent |
If you had a kid tomorrow, things might be difficult at first - but you could pull through. You don't have to be an ideal parent, but if your life was in better order, it would help. Make yourself a plan of how you'll raise and pay for a kid. You'll feel better if you have all your ducks in a row. If you're already a parent, you're probably doing a good job. Even if things aren't perfect, you're making the best of it. |

wedding update!!!
Ano pa ba? Hmmm.. Reception venue will definitely be at the Grand Regal Hotel in Lanang. Will have food tasting soon. My bouquet & entourage flowers and reception decor will be by Spring Flowers -- church flowers by St. Francis Parish (part of their church fee already) coz it didn't fit the 21K flowershop budget [4K gazebo, 17K flowers] anymore. And to think my initial budget for the florist is only 15K -- and now it's >33% more! I'm going crazy here, LOL!! Wedding coverage by Kent Photography -- had our prenuptial pictorial already. There were lots of doves, flowers and kissing! Hahaha! Will post the prenuptial pics soon, promise! ^_^

I PASSED!!!
18 August 2008
2 more days and the verdict will be out!
Pedia was tough (as expected), had a headache during and after the exam. There were lots of questions from the basic subjects which were non-Pedia. Duhh! There were almost no questions on developmental. Most were on viral and immune diseases =( Preventive Med was okay.. I don't know if there was a samplex from where same questions were found like last year. Over-all, my second weekend was easier than last weekend. Now, only the verdict remains. Owing to the holiday today, our board exam results may be out Wednesday night (11pm) or Thursday in major newspapers. Prayers, as usual, are needed. Hehe! Thanks guys! ^_^

update on our life and some quirky kissing facts
On the wedding plans: Not much happening, hehe! We have booked the church (St. Francis Parish), almost all hotels in Davao (hahaha!) for the wedding reception, the florist (c/o Sophia's Spring Flowers), and wedding planner (Events by Ria) months ago. The GOOD news: almost all the legal and church paperwork are done. We'll get our marriage license on June 24, yippee! =) We finished the Pre-Cana seminar too! For all the how-tos on wedding paperwork, visit our wedding blog at Solito-Elbanbuena.info -- so much hassle if you do it yourself like we did! Whew! The BAD news: I still don't have a wedding gown (got gowns for the entourage already) and Labsie doesn't have a tuxedo yet. We are badly in need of an affordable tailor!!! If you know one, please let me know. Thanks!
On my Physician Licensure Exam review: aka medical board exam review, hehe! I ditched the review given by our school and instead just went on self-review. I am on my fifth subject (7 more to go, mostly clinical subjects) with 6 weeks to go. Migod!!! And here I am blogging!!! o_O Exams will be on August 9-10, 16-17. If you're a prayerful person, please pray that I'll pass (so that I may serve the Filipino people already, hehe) and also all the other examiners. As they say, studying is nothing if prayers are lacking.. We need prayers guys! Libre checkup, promise! Hehe!
On Labsie: aka my fiance' =) He's a tech trainer already!! Whee!! He applied for the position when their company announced an internal hiring thinking he'll get a regular work schedule. He previously worked the 2am shift for more than 6 months so when an 8am-5pm job opened, he grabbed the chance. Unfortunately, being a tech trainer does NOT mean having a regular sked at all =( At times he had to work for more than 12 hours (from 430am to 5pm) coz he's the only trainer with the new skills that has to be disseminated to the rest of the workforce. Poor Labsie! I just hope his sked will become regular before it takes a toll on his health. With the rainy weather we have plus his lack of sleep and long work hours.. Sigh!
KISSING FACTS
2. Talk about a rush! Kissing releases the same neurotransmitters in our brains as parachuting, bungee jumping, and running.
3. The average woman kisses 29 men before she gets married. [I only kissed one!!! LOL]
4. Men who kiss their partners before leaving for work average higher incomes than those who don’t. [Labsie, read this!]
5. The longest kiss in movie history was between Jane Wyman and Regis Tommey in the 1941 film, You’re in the Army Now. It lasted 3 minutes and 5 seconds. So if you’ve beaten that record, it’s time to celebrate!
